This section provides an overview of the important points to consider in the event of an incident

  • Are you an operator of an essential service (identified by the Institute) or an operator of an electronic communications networks or services? Have you detected an incident? In this case, you must report the incident to the Institute within the first 24 hours.
  • Are you an essential or important entity under NIS2 and in one of the sectors under the supervision of the Institute? As soon as the Directive has been transposed into national law, you must notify the Institute of incidents within the first 24 hours. In the meantime, you can make a voluntary notification to the Institute.
  • Are you not or not yet under the supervision of the Institute? And you still want to report an incident? You can use the same form to make a voluntary notification.
